NAIKI is a beautifully restored building that once served as a long-established fruit wholesaler founded in the Meiji era.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the local community who have supported us, and to all guests who have looked forward to this opening.

About the NAIKI building

The new NAIKI building faces the historic Yamato Kaido highway, once used by feudal lords traveling to and from Edo during the Sankin-kōtai processions.

The building was originally established around 1870 as “Tanaka Seika Toiya” (a fruit wholesale merchant), and has been restored from what served as the merchant’s office and workshop through the generations.

The building takes its name from “Naiki-gumi,” a traditional braiding pattern used in kumihimo (Japanese braided cord).

The long house and garden have been designed as Dog-Friendly Suites where guests can spend time with their beloved dogs, while the kura (traditional warehouse) has been transformed into a private sauna.

Private “Kura Sauna” —110 Years of History Reimagined

A warehouse that has stood for over 110 years has been reborn as a full-scale sauna. Preserving the gravitas of the original kura, this is a completely private space enveloped in tranquility.

Available as an exclusive 90-minute reservation per session (one group at a time), it offers a truly luxurious experience. The sauna is equipped with a self-löyly set, sauna hats, mats, and a full range of sauna accessories.

After your sauna, step out to the open-air area overlooking the courtyard garden. Feel the breeze of each season as you cool down in the cold plunge pool and find your perfect state of “totonou.”

Exclusively reserved for one group per session (90 minutes), allowing you to enjoy your time without any distractions.

Dog-Friendly Suite with Exclusive Garden

Two rooms have been carefully designed to honor the craftsmanship of the historic building while providing a comfortable, dog-friendly space with private gardens.

The building is within walking distance of Iga Ueno Castle, offering an ideal setting for leisurely strolls with your dog amid lush greenery and the breath of history.

Each room is equipped with a thoughtfully curated selection of dog-friendly amenities, chosen from a pet owner’s perspective — including a crate, food bowls, and cleaning supplies. Natural materials fill the warm, inviting interiors, which look out onto a private garden.

Iga-yaki pottery and art add character to the space, designed with “visual comfort” in mind to restore body and mind. Naguri-finish furniture and the soft light filtering through the garden gently release the tensions of everyday life, inviting you to share a truly restorative retreat with your beloved dog.

Private garden, crate, 2 food bowls, dog treats, toilet sheets, waste bags, wet wipes, deodorizing & disinfecting spray, odor-proof waste bin, lint roller

※ Guests are asked to bring: Dog food, leash, walking bag. We recommend bringing your dog’s favorite toys, cushion, or blanket to help them feel at ease.

■ Terms and Conditions for Staying with Your Dog

Dogs are only permitted in the NAIKI building.Please note that other rooms do not allow pets.

The first dog stays free; a fee of ¥5,500(per dog, tax included) applies for a second dog.

A maximum of 2 dogs, with a combined weight under 25 kg (large breeds excluded), is permitted.

Dogs are not permitted in the restaurant.Please have your dog rest in the crate in your room during meals.

Please submit the Dog Stay Agreement Form in advance.On the day of arrival, please bring a copy of your dog’s vaccination records and rabies vaccination certificate.
